On Friday night, May 2nd 2014 at our Encountering God Service (EGS) Mike Bickle preached a message titled “The Power Of The Gospel: Walking In The Benefits Of The Cross.” In this message Mike shared some powerful truths related to the power of the Gospel and also the part we play in receiving freedom from God related to the various things we struggle with.
The struggle with sin is something that’s common to all of us. God has given us the power to become free and to walk in freedom without condemnation, but we have to both receive His power and respond to the inward working of the Holy Spirit. As we receive His power and respond to His activity we have already made a substanial dent in the progression of freedom. It’s not about only becoming free, but rather partnering with God in the process.
Here are a few quotes from Mike’s message;
“The ability to abandon ourselves to God is directly related to how much of His benefits we receive from Him.”
“We release Jesus’ victory in our life by the word of our testimony or confession of the Word.”
“The Word that contains God’s promises and releases His power in our life is so near to us–as close to us as speaking it. The power is accessed in our life by faith.”
“Faith doesn’t come by asking, but hearing the Word. The way our heart hears the best and most is when the Word comes from our own lips as we speak it to the Lord or to the enemy.”
“Whose words do you allow to take root in your heart? There are consequences to our choices. When we speak, we can cause the influence of God’s grace to increase or decrease in our life.”
