On September 10th 2013 Mike Bickle had an encounter through the Holy Spirit related to the deceptive nature of a distorted grace message. Mike said that this encounter lasted about 2 hours (3-5am) where he was speaking in Jesus’ name to a demon that was encroaching towards him even though he was rebuking it ardently. Mike said that finally this demon was bound and he was freed from this terrible feeling that he was under in this demons presence.
Then the scene shifted from this demonic encounter to the Forerunner Christian Fellowship building where Mike was standing over the pulpit that he teaches from weekly and his Bible was open to Romans 7:25. It was here that the Holy Spirit spoke to him saying “There is a fog that’s resting on the peoples minds related to the grace of God and the Gospel of grace as defined in the Word of God.” Mike took this as a strong exhortation to start preaching through Romans 3-8 and once again, like he has so many times before, begin spelling out what the Bible says related to the true grace of God message. Mike said this morning that he has studied the book of Romans for the past 40 years and he has looked at this specific book in the Bible more than any other.
So today, Mike began a series on the Grace of God and what it means for Christians to be reaching for wholeheartedness, empowered by the true Grace of God (true, meaning what the Bible defines grace as).
Here are some quotes from the mornings message;
“Romans 3-8 is the clearest presentation of the Gospel of Grace in the whole Word of God.”
“We find victory or deliverance through Jesus by knowing what Jesus did for us on the cross and by receiving it as we interact with Him on a regular basis by the Holy Spirit.”
“What Jesus freely and instantly worked for us on the cross is what He progressively works in us as we related to the Spirit’s leadership, by abiding in Christ (John 15:5).”
“Not connecting with God is a serious issue that involves more than losing a vibrant heart.”
