On Friday nights Mike Bickle has started preaching once again through the book of John, and mainly, if not exclusively John 14-17. For me personally this has been amazing because it’s corresponding with my personal studies for the past 6 months. Listening to Mike talk about these various chapters makes me see clearly that I have only scratched the surface of these chapters.
I appreciate that Mike isn’t graduating from the truths about Gods’ love for God, God’s love for us personally and God’s love for others. It seems that these chapters (John 14-17) are chapters that I could mine out truths in forever and they are so closely related to many other issues in my life, such as loving my wife, my children and the both the ministry assignment that God has given me as well as the many poeple that I come in contact with.
Through these sessions I have set my heart once again to love God in the way that God has loved me, love myself for God’s sake and then to give that love to others in the way that Jesus would have me give it away.
Here are some thoughts from this message;
“The result of talking to God, is that we bear fruit in our lives and it’s fruit that remains.”
“Rewards from Jesus in the age to come are Him expressing how He feels about the way we loved Him in this age.”
“There are two parts to abiding in God; 1)When we are born again, the Spirit immediately indwells us. 2) And as we fellowship with Holy Spirit we are transformed at the heart or soul level.”
“The Bible gives us the conversational material that we use with God.”
“We talk to God in two primary ways. 1)We talk to God who is seated on the Revelation 4 throne. 2) We talk to God who dwells within us by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
