It was just three months after I had become a Christian that the Holy Spirit visited me in my car in January of 2001 by an acorn orchard in Washougal, WA. and He said to me “There’s destiny resting upon your shoulders.” This encounter with the presence of God marked us, motivated us through trials, disappointments, challenges and great victories.
Jennifer and I have been driven by vision and a clear sense of calling from the start of our relationship with Jesus and with one another. God has called us to;
“Help lead the body of Christ into greater intimacy with Jesus and others unto a mature Church in the nations.”
Below I will expand more of the Vision, Mission and set of Values that the Holy Spirit has highlighted for our personal lives and ministry. This Vision, Mission and set of Values are not the only thing in the Word of God, or the most important things, but just the ones that God has highlighted in our hearts and lives to make our primary focus.
“Helping lead the body of Christ into greater intimacy and others unto a mature Church in the nations.”
Our passion and drive is to see the first commandment (intimacy with Jesus) restored to first place in the body of Christ worldwide. It’s our goal, to make Jesus the priority of our lives and ministry to others our expression. We believe that our identity is not found in what we do but in who we are. Our commitment through the power of the Holy Spirit is to allow our ministry to others to happen as the overflow of our ongoing experience with Jesus.
“BUILDING, ENCOUNTERING, LIVING and SHARING”
“BUILDING a resting place for Jesus Christ. ENCOUNTERING His presence. LIVING life as Jesus lived. And SHARING both our lives and His presence with those inside and outside the Church.”
Our passion both personally and for the body of Christ worldwide is that she would BUILD a solid foundation internally, having a right, Biblical view of God through clear, orthodox, historical Bible doctrine.
From that place of building a solid foundation that Jesus’ bride would then ENCOUNTER the God they have studied and read about. Our doctrine has to move from our head to heart if we are going to ENCOUNTER Him. We believe that in this generation and all generations throughout history God has longed to join solid foundations of Bible doctrine in Him with divine ENCOUNTERS of Him.
A major theme throughout the Word of God is that Christians take their private encounters with Christ into public as they LIVE life like Jesus lived. Our mission is to see individuals and the body of Christ as a whole move from building and encountering to living life as Jesus lived.
Lastly, it’s Jennifer and I’s passion to see individuals and the body of Christ become activated in their God given calling. We long to see a generation of students and adults discover their identity in Christ and their destiny with Him throughout the nations. When Christ centered identity and destiny collide in a person’s life they become carries of God’s glory in their generation, like David sharing their lives with those both inside and outside the Church.
In short our mission is to help individuals and the Body of Christ BUILD healthy relationships with God through solid Bible doctrine and then personally ENCOUNTER the Jesus they have studied. From there that they would turn their encounter with Christ into a lifestyle that they LIVE, resembling Jesus’ life on earth. And lastly we want to help both individuals and the Body of Christ SHARE their lives with those inside and outside the Church as they do ministry from the place of intimacy.
1st Commandment Values
- We value the Revelation of Jesus Christ
- We value intimacy with Jesus as the priority and ministry with Him as it’s expression
- We value the Personality and ministry of the Holy Spirit
1.THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST
What we mean by valuing the Revelation of Jesus Christ is that we work to keep and make Jesus and the Revelation of Him central to everything we do both in life and in ministry. Jesus’ divinity and His humanity are under great assault in the nations. Therefore we must keep in the front of people the four primary revelations of Jesus through the scriptures; the Incarnation, the Crucifixion, the Resurrection and the Consummation.
2. INTIMACY AND MINISTRY
Serving Jesus within the current context of the local Church can often lead people into a place of burnout and boredom of which I have personally experienced both. It’s Jesus’ passion that those who serve Him and work with Him in ministry would do so from a place of intimacy. We value putting the first commandment back into first place so that the second commandment can successfully take place.
3. THE HOLY SPIRIT
It’s been said by many that the Holy Spirit is the most neglected Person of the Trinity to which I wholeheartedly agree. This value streams out of Jesus’ passion for His people to both live in the Spirit and also walk in the Spirit (Galatians 5:25). We value seeing the Holy Spirit restored to His rightful place among the people of God and within the Body of Christ as He exalts Jesus, unlocks the scriptures and empowers the saints for ministry.
2nd Commandment Values
- We value the Sermon On The Mount as basic Christianity
- We value living life in community both inside and outside the Church
- We value marriage, Biblical sexuality and godly families
4. SERMON ON THE MOUNT CHRISTIANITY
Among Jesus’ teachings throughout the Gospels, His greatest and most in-depth sermon, which is the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5,6 and 7 is also among the most neglected teachings of Jesus within the Church. It’s through this sermon that we clearly understand wholeheartedness towards Jesus is the standard for everyone who names the name of Jesus, not just a few in leadership. We value Jesus’ call to wholeheartedness through this sermon as basic Christianity available to everyone.
5. LIVING IN COMMUNITY
The call to Christianity throughout the whole of the Bible is a call into community and fellowship with one another. The Church throughout history tends to either live life in community with those inside the Church or outside the Church, but seldom as she lived life with people both inside and outside simultaneously. We value community that takes place among those who know Christ and those who are far from Him. Without the two operating together in unity the Church will never fulfill the first or second commandment.
6. MARRIAGE, BIBLICAL SEXUALITY AND FAMILIES
For several generations marriage, Biblical sexuality and the family has been under great attack. But in the midst of great darkness, the Church must rise and shine bright with the Light of Christ. Our answer to the crisis isn’t to argue and point fingers, but rather to raise up marriages built on the word of God, present clear teaching about pure sexuality, it’s intended purpose and raise up young Daniel’s who stand strong in the midst of Babylon. We value marriage, biblical sexuality and the family because it’s through these truths that God intends to fill the earth with His glory.
